Exmoor 50:50
challenge walk

Sunday July 3rd 2011
10:30am - 2:30pm start

Half for your cause or club with the other half split to go to the
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Children's Hospice South West.

We held our second annual Exmoor 50:50 Challenge Walk on Sunday 3rd July 2011 following the same course as last year. The weather was again excellent.

The walkers raised money for their own club, community, charity or other cause. 50% of what they raised will be sent to their cause, the rest will be passed on by the Minehead Lions Club to the Air Ambulance and the Children’s Hospice South West. Many decided to give all the money they raised to these causes.

The walk is a loop of about five miles through beautiful, mainly wooded Exmoor countryside, starting from Horner, near Porlock with marshals and signs to guide the walkers well as refreshment points along the way.

The start and finish were located in a large field adjacent to the Horner Woods Scout Camp site, providing a large area for car parking and the opportunity for families to picnic in one of the most picturesque areas in West Somerset. There are also two tea rooms and public toilets nearby.

All those taking part seemed to have enjoyed the day; we hope to see you this year! Click the various buttons to have a look at some photos and the route.
